Alright lets see if i can get any faster at typing i swear i'm the slowest typer in the world but anyway... today is my last Pday in the MTC i leave tomorrow at 4 in the morning for thoses that didn't know. i just finished packing like half hour ago and its crazy i can't believe i am already out of the MTC i jokingly (well kinda) asked my Branch President if i could have an extention on my MTC time. but i'm excited to get into the field! i think the other worries i have at the moment is going to be the flight as i have never flown in my life but it doesn't seem bad and i don't think i really am even scared just unsure. but its been pretty chaotic here the last few days. monday was our last two classes with Bro Strong and Bro Hainsworth my two district teachers. first off we finished up our progressive investigators with them. i don't know if i've talked much about those but basically both Bro Strong and Hainsworth play the roles of two investigators they remember real well from their missions and we teach them our way and try to either make them active again or get them baptized. we had Kofi from south africia with Bro Strong he was a less active member that he taught for ten months! we had only five visits with him though but its so real because they know them so well. we got Kofi to come back to church and we had him meet with the bishop and obtain the aaronic priesthood to the office of a priest so that he could baptize his daughter vannessa. it was amazing you could really really feel the spirit in the room for the last few meetings. then he showed us a picture of Kofi and he was freaking black! i kinda guess he was because he was from south africia but i was so use to teaching Bro Strong that it threw me for a loop. then we had the bro Hainsworth's investigator whose name was Jeff and was a Baptist if i remember right sorry. we had to clean up his word of wisdom issues and talk about Baptism which he committed to just not a specific date and then it was over. so now when he showed us the real Jeff i was shocked because he was this huge probably 6'4" fat black man and we had been picturing him as a white guy because bro Hainsworth is a 6 foot tall white boy who weights like a 135 lbs. crazy stuff. haha but sadly in real life Jeff never did get baptized he just considered them more as bible study buddies. haha that was like a rhyme time... haha anyways. then we had George i don't know if i ever told you about him but he is one of our TRC investigators which means he is either a member helping out and plays his convert story or a REAL investigator which we pretty sure he was a hundred percent real. it was crazy he has the story of how 13 monthes ago he had a blood clot and had his leg amputated and he prayed to God in anger and God told him that he took his leg to bring him to God and so that George never forgot. but we still had to convert him. another amputee family the stanleys had been giving George the lessons and teaching him everything already all we had to really do was talk to him about his questions in the Book of Mormon. we had an amazing lesson where we were talking about the iron rod and the tree of life and it wasn't going super well because George is very blunt and will cut you off if he already knows something. haha anyways so after the first lesson Elder Miller wanted to Punch george because he is a butt and was hoping we missed the next appointment. but then the second lesson when we were talking about the iron rod and tree of life. Elder Miller said something that struck home with George. the iron rod is like Handrails on stairs and other places for George he needs them in his life because without them George would fall. i had never felt the spirit so strong in my life. but anyways after that those two like loved each other. and George became the coolest ever. we taught him two more times and he told us about his paintingsand various things and on the final lesson he gave us his address and told us to write hiim a letter and he would answer back and tell us when he got baptized because we committed him to that as soon as he finished the Book of Mormon that was his promise and the Stanleys are holding him to that. he was about half way through Alma on Saturday so we are hoping it comes very soon.
um mom dad what time do you guys want me calling you? i'm thinking 6-630 tomorrow morning because my flight leaves at 730 and then we only have like a half hour layover in Detroit so that wouldn't be the best time. and i bought the calling card to day 500 mins for 3 dollars it was a good deal.
Thanks everyone for all the letters and packages you have all sent me. sorry if i'm slow on answering i honestly already have at least 75 dear elders and letters and it hard to keep track who i need to write back still and stuff. i sent letters to Grandma and Grandpa, and will and Alicia today and i was working on a few others. sorry if it takes a bit like i said i am a way slow writer.
